A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate known as a NDEPC, short for Non Domestic Energy Performance Certificate is a multipart document and made up of:
The Energy Performance Certificate of Non-Domestic Buildings is a two page document showing the actual Energy Performance Asset Rating of the building on an A-G scale, together with the rating of a typical building of the same type, and the rating of a newly built building of type. Page two shows the Assessor’s details.

The Recommendation Report is an eight page document that must accompany the NDEPC and should be retained as it may be required to be produced within seven days by Trading Standards who have been given the task of ensuring compliance.
The Recommendation Report has three categories of recommendations with differing payback periods. A short payback is classed as those improvements that can be paid for by the savings they generate within three years. The medium payback period are those that pay for themselves between three to seven years and the long payback period are those improvements which will take longer than seven years to generate a return.
The Energy Assessor may also make recommendations based on their experience and observations.
Alongside each recommendation is the Potential Impact that each will have on reducing Carbon emissions, and are categorised as low, medium and high.
