BREEAM In-Use The environmental performance of an organization’s buildings are a key factor in its sustainable credentials and carbon footprint. Operating a building represents a major cost. Cutting energy, water, waste and other operational costs can be a relatively easy way of improving profitability.
BREEAM In-Use is a new scheme to help building owners and occupiers reduce their running costs and improve the environmental performance of their existing building stock. It consists of a standard assessment methodology and a 3rd party certification process that provides a clear and credible route to improving the sustainability of existing properties.

This assessment process is designed to: · Reduce operational costs. · Enhance the value and marketability of property assets. · Demonstrate a commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) · Provide opportunities to improve staff satisfaction with the working environment and the potential for significant improvements in productivity. · Provide a genuine badge of proven sustainability. · Provide a route to compliance with environmental legislation and standards, such as energy labelling and ISO 14001. · Give a transparent platform for negotiating building improvements with landlords and owners. · Give greater engagement with staff in implementing sustainable business practices. · Improve organisational effectiveness.
DEA Lincolnshire is a registered and accredited BREEAM In-Use Auditor and are able audit these assessments.
